What exactly happens during a session and how much is it?
The session starts with an analysis of the posture and movement of the client. This then results in the treatment, where the individual is laying, sitting or standing. Depending on the area in the body the Rolfer then works with hands, fingers or elbows. The tension in the muscle and connective tissue will be balanced out and the individual movement pattern will be changed. This can greatly help the client with breathing or movements.
In addition there is the option of perception or movement exercises.
Normally a Rolfing series is a set of 10 sessions. One session is around 1 – 1,5 hours. The time-lapse between should be 2-4 weeks. Sessions for youngsters and kids are shorter.
New price from 1.4.2023:
Rolfing session 60-90 min: 2.100,- CZK
Children 8-15: 1.100,- CZK

For clients, who want to try, if Rolfing method is the right therapy for them, I recommend to start with 3 sessions. These sessions address the “outer layers“ of the body and will give a good base to decide, if they can profit from the treatment. Of course it is possible to book single sessions with acute problems.
What conditions can Rolfing help with?
The primary aim is an improvement of the structure, posture and movement of the human body. So Rolfing can be useful with every problem in the structural field, here are some examples:
Many clients expect reduction of pain. Sometimes pain has no clear medical explanation. The Rolfer looks less to the “reason” than to the whole body and tries to achieve the client’s healthy balance. This will reduce most of the unpleasant symptoms.
What are the long-term benefits of Rolfing?
The results of Rolfing do not only stay, they continue to develop. Changes through Rolfing take place in the physical body but also in subjective experience. Because of our life circumstances, our feeling for the body is very often less developed. Through the Rolfing session it significantly improves. A better feeling within the body can stimulate positive developments for years in the structure and psychology.
Stress, accidents and the ageing process have a negative effect on the posture. After some time, it can be useful to have refreshment sessions.

What is Rolfing Movement?
In the late years of her inquiry DR. Ida Rolf discovered that fundamental changes in a body’s structure and its function can be supported and encouraged by specific movement exercises.
Besides the 10 series, Dr. Rolf then developed special exercises, which talk to different parts of the human body.
In the past 20 years these exercises received a theoretic fundament, mainly from the French movement teacher and dancer Hubert Godard, who also broadend the variety and applications thereof. The model today called “tonic function“, is the guideline for most of the Rolfing movement exercises. It is based on exchange with other movement schools and theories, long time experience and the latest scientific studies about the function of the connective tissue (fascia). This holistic approach brings together awareness, coordination, structure and psychology.
I integrate Rolfing Movement into my sessions, depending on the individual needs of the client (sportsmen, musicians, housewife or student…).
What age is Rolfing useful for?
Rolfing can help people from every age and with many different problems. Rolfing sessions for children are shorter and the time lapse in between is longer.
Can Rolfing have any negative side effects?
If you feel ill, you should consult your general practitioner. There are specific conditions that are not suitable for Rolfing and these will be fully explored before any intervention is started.
